[color=rgb(153, 255, 153)]I am a SUCKER for political intrigue, especially during the Bakumatsu. This story is THE story to read if you're into that as well. The research into the political background of the Meiji Restoration is so well-woven into the story that it's hard to believe it's simply fanfiction. If it didn't have Rurouni Kenshin elements, I'd venture to say that this could be a very exciting novel that takes place during the time period. Though the updates are incredibly slow (slow enough to make everyone wonder if the story will be continued), they're well worth the wait. Each chapter has loads of historical and political information packed into it, and it's quite apparent that Naga has put great effort into making the details as accurate and realistic as possible. This is not a straightforward and easy read, however, so if you have a short attention span and don't like having to think while you're reading, this story is probably not the best choice for you. I understand not everyone is into politically-based fiction, but for those of you who are...

The story starts with Kenshin meeting Kaoru in Tokyo. Kaoru is in pursuit of a man who claims to be the Battosai, and at first believes Kenshin is the man, but after seeing Kenshin's clumsiness and "sakabato" - "reverse blade sword" decides he can't possibly be the legendary manslayer. The actual culprit turns out to be a former student of the Kamiya dojo who seeks revenge after being expelled. Kaoru is captured and held captive by the fake Battosai, but Kenshin appears on the scene, reveals that he is the real Battosai, and proceeds to defeat both the fake and his gang without killing any of them. He uses a powerful, ancient style of swordsmanship known as "Hiten Mitsurugi-Ryu". When offered a place at the dojo, Kenshin decides to temporarily stop being a Rurouni and stay at the dojo. Thus starts the first of three arcs of the manga. (Wikipedia)For more information, please visit to here.Read manga of this anime.

The Meiji Era was one of great renewal for Japan, where swords and killing were outlawed. How-ever, many survivors from the time of Revolu-tion still lived, lurking in the shadows and waiting for a chance to use their killing blades again. Only Kenshin Himura, formerly one of the most brutal of killers, hopes to keep his swordsman's honor and still live in the new era.

Being a fan of Rurouni Kenshin, just having finished the TV series and looking forward to the movies and OVA, this CD was a must.
